Top ten things to do in Hawaii

Oahu is the island most visited by travelers to Hawaii. It is known as "The Gathering Place." There are so many things that make you not be able to do everything in one visit. We have chosen our top ten things to do on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.

1. Attend a luau
O'ahu offers a number of excellent luaus. Germaine Luau takes place on a private beach on Barber this point of Honolulu. Polynesian Cultural Center Ali'i Luau is held in La'ie in North Shore of Oahu. My favorite Luau Oahu Paradise Cove Luau is held on a beach on 12 acres at the Ko Olina Resort and features food, entertainment of Polynesia, traditional Hawaiian games, and lessons in lei making.

2. Discover Historic Honolulu
Located in the heart Honolulu you'll find many of the most historic buildings in Hawaii, as the 'Iolani Palace home to the monarchs of Hawaii and the last the only palace in the territory U.S.. You'll also want to visit the Hawaii State Capitol, the Statue of Kamehameha I, Kawaiahao Church – the first Christian church in Hawaii, Mission House Museums and the old federal building. All of the historic Honolulu is within walking distance of the park in the center of the equally famous Aloha Tower.

3. Driving North Shore of Oahu
Oahu North Shore is home to the best world-class surfers in the world when the winter waves reach their majestic heights. It easy one hour from Waikiki to lovely Haleiwa town where the north coast begins for most visitors traveling on eastbound around O'ahu. Be sure to stop at the Bonzai Pipeline where surfers can see their way through the middle of a wave.

4. Explore the Bishop Museum
Bishop Museum is recognized as the State Museum of Natural History and Culture. While the name of the museum is officially Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, the Museum was actually created by her husband Carlos bishop who had left their Bernice personal property at his death in 1885 fulfilling his dream of preserving the cultural heritage of Hawaii. Throughout its history, commitment the museum has been collecting and disseminating information on Hawaii and the Pacific.

5. Walk to the point Makapu'u
One of excursions O'ahu is rewarding walking round trip of 2.5 miles Makapu'u Point, the easternmost point of Oahu. The walk to the point is mostly uphill and takes about an hour in each direction. A visit to Arizona Memorial a solemn and sobering experience, even for those who were not alive when the attack occurred. You are literally standing next to a tomb where 1177 men lost life.

7. View Waikiki and Oahu from the top of Diamond Head
Diamond Head looms large in Waikiki. Actually the name Le'ahi by the Hawaiians, Named best known in the late 1700's when British seamen saw calcite crystals sparkling in the sunshine and thought they had found diamonds. A hike to the top of Diamond Head takes about an hour in a rut. The summit offers a spectacular view of 365 degrees of Oahu and is a mandatory travel enthusiast photography.

8. Shop in Waikiki and Honolulu in the area of greatest
Waikiki is a great place to shop and offers prestigious establishments such as Tiffany & Co., Chanel, Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, as well as more modest stores such as ever-present ABC Stores and the famous International Market Place. The Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center is undergoing a major renovation and contains 150 shops and restaurants on four levels. The DFS Galleria the only place for foreign guests Hawaii to enjoy duty-free savings on luxury brands of the world leaders.

9. Visit the Polynesian Cultural Center
Polynesian Cultural Center is Hawaii's highest-paid tourist attraction. The PCC features seven Polynesian "islands" in an environment of 42 beautifully landscaped acres. The Ali'i Luau takes guests in a nostalgic rip back in time to learn about the royalty of Hawaii while enjoying traditional Hawaiian luau food and entertainment. The Rainbow Center Paradise Event Canoeing sample is carried out daily in the main lagoon. The PCC is also home to Hawaii's first and only IMAX Theater ™.

10. Visit the zoo Honolulu and Waikiki Aquarium
Kapi'olani Park Located at the eastern end of Waikiki, Honolulu Zoo is the largest zoo within a radius of 2,300 miles and unique in that it is the only zoo in the U.S. from a king's grant of Crown land to the people. Too often overlooked by visitors. Located near the coast, the Waikiki Aquarium is the third oldest public aquarium in the United States. Exhibits, programs, and research focus on aquatic life of Hawaii and the tropical Pacific.
