portrait landscape orientation

Microsoft Word is the world's most commonly used word processing with nice features of a good page layout. It is installed on a majority personal computers or professionals in all countries. It makes sense for you as a freelance technical writer to learn how to design a template in Word.
First, create your margins and other basic features of page layout.
Select File> New from the main menu and create a new blank Word document.
Select File> Page Setup to display the Setup dialog box.
Select your page orientation (portrait vs. landscape).
Set your Top, Bottom, Left and Right margins. The defaults look good but you can change everything you want.
Set your Gutter size and position. Gutter is non-blank text box to the left or top of your text box. Many books format documents leave a groove on the left for easy reading. Experiment with different widths of gutters and see which one you prefer, or set it to the width specified by your manager documentation (if you have one).
Select worth "several pages" from the menu. Here are your options:
- NORMAL creates a single page type, with the same margins and gutters, headers and footers. All pages of the document will look exactly the same.
- MIRROR MARGINS creates pages from right to left and with margins "mirror" each other. In other words, the margins are on the outer edge of each page.
- 2 pages per sheet creates two equal small pages outside the "normal" size page. For the portrait orientation pages, two small landscape pages are created. For pages in landscape orientation, two small portrait pages are created.
- BOOK FOLD creates a "margin" (a single page unit) 2 or a multiple-of-2 pages. Your choices are all, 4, 8, 12 and 16 pages to spread.
In the Preview box, select the drop down list, how many pages these features layout should be applied.
- SET DOCUMENT applies the values of layout for each page in the document.
- From this point applies changes from where you are in the document at the end.
Click the Default button to reset all values to their default values.
Click OK when finished.
