Photography science project?
I need to think of a science project, preferably based on photography.
Something like, was is the effect of _____ on _______, but not limited to that format.
This is what I have access to:
-Complete black and white dark room, for developing film and processing.
-Multiple enlargers [including colorhead], and filters.
-35 mm cameras, black and white film, all of the chemicals and tools necessary to develop and process.
-Digital cameras ranging from point and shoots to Canon 40d’s.
-Various hot lights, flood lights, light stands, pony clamps, diffusion umbrella’s, back drops, light meters, etc.
-Pin hole cameras [mostly made from coffee cans and oatmeal canisters]
Any ideas? Its to get a science seal on my diploma, i need some input pleaseee!
Timed photography or long exposure photography seems to get the judge’s attention.
I take it you want the photography itself to be the basis of the project and not to merely document a project.
You could explain how a pinhole camera works.
Show how aperture changes DOF.
Show how shutter speeds affects the clarity and mood of a subject.
You could aquire a few cheap cameras and dissect them. Show the difference between a mechanical camera, electronic camera and digital camera.
