How necessary is cleaning your uniform civil war?
The Confederation daily or uniform of the weld has never really been made to be washed. They were so fast that many of them were never cleaned – ever.
This leaves us with a question:
Do you really need to wash or dry clean your Civil War uniform?
Some reasons for cleaning a uniform may be
1. To avoid smells really bad.
(Some hardcore reenactors feel that smelling bad is actually part of the mystique?
What do you have a  "smell authentic?)
2. To prevent the body from various chemicals that can absorb or acquire uniform as sweat, body oils, destroy the integrity of the conspiracy.
3. To make your uniform look good.
4. To every season, the annual maintenance to preserve their monthly uniform.
Thus, taking into account all these things, if you want to continue to clean your uniform, here are my suggestions.
1. Doing as little as possible. Less is better.
2. Jackets, pants and jackets (wool or jean cloth) – None of mine have been washed.
3. What I do is put on the porch of a hanger and let air.
4. If I get a little dirt, use a stiff brush and brush Nice to dust it.
(A stiff brush works well.)
5. If you still really want to own I would soak in cold running water
with a kind of woolen fabric cleaner like Woolite.
