What is a good digital SLR camera to start photography?
Recently I had only an interest in photography and want continue as a hobby. I wonder what is a good digital SLR camera? I know a friend in the picture, but the camera is like 1200 $, and that does not add all your lenses and accessories …
For Christmas 2007 my husband gave me the Nikon D40, and I really love it. I was even able to get a "kit" which includes the camera body, lens base and an additional lens (and even a camera case). I think we spent about $ 500 to $ 600 for everything, including the insurance plan Ritz Camera. If you shop for the D40 on eBay, you could probably find one new or in excellent condition for perhaps $ 200 to $ 300. The other I would suggest is the Canon Digital Rebel XTi. It is a great camera for a beginner and very comparable to the D40. XTi I shot some photos with a friend, and I noticed a difference between her and my camera is that in "Auto" setting the shutter seems restored only a fraction of a second faster in the next shot. Just search eBay rapid returns the following: Nikon D40: $ 390 new and used $ 199 Canon Digital Rebel XTi: from $ 399 new and used $ 349 Hope this helps – and have fun with your new camera once you get it!
