Digital photography in the art of canvas?
I recently went to the art show. One exhibit was a huge canvas of panoramic photos of landscapes photos (taken with a digital camera). Up close images appeared oil paintings, but they were digital photos printed on this canvas as art. These photos were nice and big. He had style pan and were about 30 "x 48" (2.5 mx 4 m). The canvas was attached to a frame of wooden frame for hanging directly on a wall w / o need for a framework. I was wondering if anyone knew more about this topic. Is there a special name for this process of digital photography canvas art? What kind of printer is used? Where do you get the pictures developed? What else is needed for this process? The startup costs? Where can I go for additional information about this topic?
I just saw these things in the photography exhibition at the Amon Carter Museum in Ft. Worth and asked about it. Apparently it is a relatively new technique. Now, if I remember the name – Ciba See the following for complications and characteristics This type of printing on canvas and inkjet (with huge bed printers)
