Photography Camera Film?

There is a modern photographic film that is easier to make digital technology? Or is that still today, use a dark room, then scan the images? My Girlfriend is considering buying a Pentax K1000, but we are not sure whether the old-fashioned film developing will be very useful. Anyone with a little help? Thank you.

After developing the film can a) Examination of the negatives with a scanner that allows this or B) make copies and then scan them. Since I shoot mostly in color, I have my movie processed at Walgreen's and scan the tracks of my HP Scanjet 4850. The 4850 also lets you scan 35mm negatives. Just do not use that feature. You also process can have a Walgreen's C-41 or color printing Films Ilford XP2 Super or Kodak BW400CN (2 black and white that are compatible with C-41) and has a CD and must use the CD to put your piture on your computer.
